Fit For An Autopsy - Oh What The Future Holds (Album Review In English)

"The twentieth century has been the bankruptcy of social utopia. The twenty-first will be the bankruptcy of technology."

~ Nassim Nicholas Taleb ~

February starts dynamically, specifically with an Extreme Metal fragrance coming from New Jersey and with a theme based on the new generation's reflection on what the future holds for them. Pandemics, vaccines, deforestation, and more are all about the Earth's endangered climate and the form of global "tyranny" that is now the only thing that dominates the world. be it despair, fear and anger, all this and much more they try to show through their lyrics, Fit For An Autopsy in their 6th consecutive work called "Oh What The Future Holds" released through Nuclear Blast on January 14, who is ready to shake the space of extreme sound once again.

The album starts with the opening title of the same title which contains a dark introduction with the piano from behind giving the feeling that you are on a dark road that you do not know what can be reserved for you. His sequel is so harmonious and imposing, as Joe Badilato scores and apparently scores from the locker room!

An awesome pit that gives you the tendency to jump like a kid and beat to the beat of a slow guitar, while the spin that makes the sounds between each other from the slowest to the fastest is great, which could be reminiscent of the classic Deathcore wave that had started to be announced in the 00's, this happens in the next track "Pandora", resulting in such a sweet sound change and so discreet without a trace of sudden change, one could say, that the guitarist Will Putney has a metronome inside him.

The Three Guitars tied extremely and sincerely very harmoniously, a beginning full of rage, anger and fear for the future, while their music does not lack the melodic elements that could make us nostalgic for the golden age of In Flames that are perfectly combined with the atmospheric elements that we observe, which cause a big outburst from the vocals, as Break gives a crazy boost to the adrenaline that the compositions of the American Extreme Metallers do not stop!

Far From Heaven .... The first track that was the forerunner of their upcoming release and the first video clip .... This track is very reminiscent of an introduction similar to Motivo used by the most modern bands and specifically Gojira.

The imposing interpretation and barbarism of the guitar are the main parts that express the anger for how everyone exercises the power given to them by the government and the Church for the pedophilia and abuse of power that it does mostly, characterizing it as the good of religion, while the interest prevails based on hatred and segregation in diversity through the high ones who rule the Planet which is expressed through their lyrics.

I believe that the lyrics of this particular piece tell the exact truth, that is, the power does what it ought to do, without any logic, chips, bessa and having only one goal .... To "lock" the human mind, in a bubble for to have more power!

"I Saw The Fallen Stars, Descend Into The Sea. Reborn As Fallen Gods, They Keep Me Far From Heaven"!

A couplet that haunted me for good and plays constantly on Repeat, starring both the production and the distinctive bass that plays behind, while a big point of reference, I consider it is the clear interpretation that there is no case in combination with the violin that play back not to shudder, look for the lyrics of the song and you will understand a lot!
It is worth mentioning that this Single in 2021, according to Loudwire reached the 35th position as one of the best tracks of 2021.

With a more Massive guitar, the album continues with "In Shadows" giving more speeds and higher Distorted abilities, which together with the aggression of the Drums gives something very special, while the refrain with clear voices gives something more modern in sound color. of the piece! Dark track, with a slightly more modern character in some places and an awesome tie with the most Growl vocals!

We all know the iconic destruction of the Twin Towers that happened on September 11, 2001 and the rumors / suspicions / events that have been made public. So today they liken it that way, reaching the whole world to self-destruction!

This is the case with the great "Two Towers", which has a different look, the well-known one based on the Lord of the Rings of the famous Tolkien.

One might think that the Animated Video that was released, along with the whole reality, could be based on the distinction made between those who are "Prisoners", because they are considered "Unvaccinated" and those who are vaccinated.

So they put all of them in a Lockdown and whatever happens, they do not let them out ...... This could be another thought that goes hand in hand with the present but also with the past that we lived within the two years. No concerts, no fun, no going out, no friends as we only saw them from one screen, one camera and nothing else!

In fact, this piece could be a similar concern to that of many more modern And Groove Metal bands such as Thy Art Is Murder, Lamb Of God, Gojira, and even Domination INC. who wrote pieces based on questioning and reflection on those who govern us but also on man!

The way it was recorded and the finale that accompanies the production and its acoustics, make you shudder, which challenges you to put it on again and again with an awesome guitar solo!

Let's go to A Highter Level Of Hate, hatred, anger, rage and the highest tendency of cannibalism are the emotions that dominate the world, which is expressed very strongly and aggressively through the lyrics and the whole set that flares up more and more as time goes on, while the "Collateral Damage" & "Savages", function as a Roller that scans everything in its path, as it makes you want to lose your neck completely !!

A trio that makes you hit without tomorrow and do Wall Of Death with the wall of the house, the warm-up for the upcoming Live that is expected to return!

The rhythms in "Conditional Healing" change as it starts with a more Technical Style quite excellent, confirming Josean Orta's way of playing to be on another level and the whole set to be even more complex as alternations often occur and give the tendency to fall the ultimate Mosh Pit and the distortions of the guitar to give the gratuitous shot to the pleasure that this record could cause!

The Man That I Was Not, here we have an atmospheric start with the clear vocals giving a special style, while along the way there is an explosion of emotions that causes aggression, imposing and is based mainly on backstabbing and the lack of manliness that exists in the world, either in human relationships, or in the matter of work, hoping through their lyrics for a better tomorrow!

A masterpiece finale that contains an amazing composition, an awesome atmosphere, disagreements reminiscent of an exorcism or a ritual and in combination with Growl and guitars gives an amazing set and an ideal start for 2022.

One remark I have to make (and it is positive), is that in the last decade I have found a great deal of reflection from the space of the most modern scene.

For example, Architects, Parkway Drive, Bleed From Within, Caliban, Dagoba, Gojira, Thy Art Is Murder, Heaven Shall Burn and many other bands, have begun to strongly express their concern for nature, humanity, or mainly those who rule everything, arguing that up there they want to pass a propaganda, or arguing that all we are experiencing is a form of "Dictatorship" or "Tyranny" and so on.

This is something very important and shows how much they want some things to be expressed through their music and how much they want others to "silence" music and art, either because they claim it offends them, or because they want everything that is expressed to baptize it as "Defamation" by doing with it "Demonstration of power" with the result that they want to make man a helpless ounce!

I declare happy and proud that I see a band which unfortunately is not very well known here in Greece and "Unjust" I will say this. So I will say one thing ..... This is a band that not only dares a lot, not only experiments, but probably in a few years from this year, we could characterize them as a band that gives the impetus for evolution of music, with very clever riffs, exceptional volumes, awesome bass lines, incredible interpretations, crystal clear sound and a creepy Feeling.

These are the emotions created by the 6th album of the American Deathcorers and it is a band that will occupy the most modern space of Groove, Core and the most Extreme Metal scene as well as from one album after the other. evolve more and more managing to find their own musical identity!

Personally I will close with my overall assessment, which is based on the fact that if I closed my eyes and did not know what it is, I would say that this is not Technical, nor Core, it is something else, it is FIT FOR AN AUTOPSY sound and what they did , honors them as long as it does not go and if I listened to it in my sleep, I would wake up to put it again and again and again!

Listen to the album, read the lyrics and you will understand why I claim that one of the best Albums of the year was probably found from the beginning of the new year. Words are useless, just listen to the Album! These are the FIt For An Autopsy and this is their 6th effort "Oh What The Future Holds".
