Ganzi Gun - Time Is Now (Album Review In English)

"Old age always teaches."

~ Aeschylus ~

A key element that makes an album stand out is, for me, its "script". The existence of a "beginning, middle and end", can offer the listener the perfect environment to build his own story, his own images, which will frame the pieces he is going to hear.

The reason I start my introduction like this is because the Ganzi Gun, in about 30 minutes, achieved just that: to stimulate my imagination while gradually feeding my body to the rhythm they set. After some time in the studio, it is obvious that the band took its time and "built" a very dignified 2nd album.
Given how consistent the style and sound from the first to the last minute, I will not try to judge the result "piece by piece", but I will point out those points that led me to the final score.

My first observation has to do with the vocals, which are explosive and full of (tamed) energy. I do not know if the band "sets up" the vocals around the music or vice versa, but the result is excellent and absolutely flattering both for the singer himself and for the sound of the band as a whole.

The guitars are also excellent throughout the album. With a multitude of "hard" riffs and meticulous effects, they manage to give a uniform style, without sounding repetitive, which is remarkable. As for the solos, I can say that I singled out those of Fist My Way Through You, but also the outro of Ready To Blow, which is an ideal closing for the album, heavy and melodic.

Of course, one can not fail to pay attention to the interesting shooting on the bass which, in combination with the dynamic drums, enrich the sound, stimulating the listener's senses with every whim and beat, as for example in the Intro.

Based on all the above, I singled out the aforementioned Intro, Insane and Ready To Blow from the album, which I look forward to (at some point) watching live.

Ganzi Gun want and find their own (modern) sound in the genre and this is evident from the fact that they raise the bar vertically in each of their new work. At some point you may still be missing something more, but they certainly prove to be worth a spot on your Spotify playlists.
